Idea Hive – a highly innovative performance marketing agency located in the heart of Hyde Park, has recently embarked on an extensive expansion drive. The agency which has managed to carve a niche for itself in the cut-throat advertising industry, has restructured its operations and brought on board a strong team that will pilot Idea Hive towards a path of competitiveness and sustainable growth.
“Our ability to show tangible results to our clients has played a pivotal role in the growth of our business,” says Idea Hive CEO Yaw Dwomoh. “We have been on a good trajectory, but to ensure we continue to competitively deliver value to our
clients, we decided to reconfigure our business and put together a competent team that will help steer this ship and take it to higher heights,” he explained.
The cornerstone of the business will be anchored by three pillars that will focus on Content Management, Growth Strategy and Precision Marketing – supported by an astute client services team. Under the Content Management pillar, Idea Hive has appointed Sizwe “Scoop” Simelane as the GM who leads the business unit. Scoop has spent 10 years in the advertising game understanding consumer data and its impact on content creation and deployment. He has also developed strategies for multi-billion dollar global brands and notable South African businesses. “I am excited to continue on this journey with Idea Hive, mostly because the business works on brands that challenge me in different ways,” Scoop mentioned.
The Growth Strategy business unit will be spearheaded by newly appointed GM, Geraldine Mamburu. She comes with a wealth of knowledge in marketing, strategy and enterprising garnered over the last 12 years at MNCs such as Accenture, BASF and running an SME. Idea Hive has developed a distinctive ability to tell unique stories by leveraging data, insights and technology. This role will entail providing strategic direction underpinned by the same principles that will contribute towards growing the commercial side of the business,” says Mamburu, an MBA Wits alumna. “Equally important will be building strong brand equity through our digital PR capabilities that will position Idea Hive as the go-to performance marketing agency in the industry,” she adds.
Idea Hive is also excited to welcome Muzi Mthombeni who has been appointed as the GM for Precision Marketing. Precision Marketing is essential to Idea Hive as it enables the business to help elevate their clients’ brands by moving from mass marketing to mass personalisation using a scientific approach backed by insights and data. Mthombeni, who holds a BCom in Business Sciences and has 10 years’ experience in marketing and advertising, will be responsible for brand and consumer strategies informed by data analytics. “My future is in blending the world of data sciences and creative practices. Watch me do some amazing stuff at Idea Hive,” exclaims Mthombeni.
